Tonnage exemption


A tonnage derogation is a special authorization allowing a vehicle to exceed the weight limits normally imposed on certain roads or areas. This derogation is necessary for deliveries or work involving heavy vehicles that exceed tonnage restrictions. All local roads are limited to 12 tons, but for higher tonnage, an application is required.

Here are some situations where a tonnage exemption may be required:
  • Deliveries of building materials for construction sites.
  • Transport of heavy machinery or industrial equipment.
  • Emergency interventions requiring specialized vehicles.

The written request must include several essential elements:
  • Delivery start date and duration.
  • The route taken from the entrance to the village.
  • The precise address of the destination location or area.
  • Transport times (specify H24 in case of emergency).
  • Contact details.
  • The company name, address, contact details and telephone number(s) of the carrier(s).
  • The number of the administrative authorization (PC or DP) or a brief description of the purpose of the delivery(s).
  • A copy of the vehicle registration documents (or the estimated number of vehicles if not identified at the time of application, specifying whether they are in rotation).

The processing time is two weeks.
