Flooding

BEFORE THE EVENT, get organized
  • Protect furniture and valuables from water
  • Design potential water inlets
  • Mooring the tanks
  • Move vehicles parked near riverbanks
DURING THE EVENT, make yourself safe
  • Don't try to reach your loved ones or pick up your children from school, don't take your car and postpone your trips.
  • Stay informed and follow the authorities' instructions in the media and on social networks by following the official accounts.
  • Caring for loved ones, neighbors and vulnerable people
  • Take refuge in high places, do not go down into underground parking lots
  • Do not drive or walk on flooded roads
AFTER THE EVENT, if your property has been flooded
  • Keeping abreast of developments
  • Ventilate, clean rooms and disinfect
  • Heat as soon as possible
  • Restore power only if the system is dry
  • Report the claim to the insurance company as soon as possible

DICRIM (Document d'Information Communal sur les Risques Majeurs) & PCS (Plan Communal de Sauvegarde): in 2021, the commune updated the information documents essential for municipal staff and the population in the event of natural disasters or major accidents.

The DICRIM is a document produced by the mayor and freely available for consultation at the town hall. Its purpose is to inform all citizens about :

  • natural and technological hazards,
  • consequences for people and property,
  • individual and collective prevention, protection and safeguard measures implemented,
  • significant events and accidents that have occurred in the municipality,
  • warning means in the event of an event or danger...

Paper copies of the DICRIM are available from the Town Hall, the Tourist Office, the Municipal Police, the Media Library and the Harbour Master's Offices at Théoule and Figueirette.
